Launch of Big Chip 2009

The Big Chip awards are coming round again. Which means 6 months of preparation starting now. Last year's awards were a terrific success - you can see a short video below.

With the 2009 awards planned for 18 June - almost a month later than last year - the run up to the awards has shifted back a bit. Nevertheless in many ways we're ahead of where we usually are now. And we have better coordination than before: the call for entries press release is out (for 14 January) and this coicnides with new content and application form going live on the website. The judging panel too is mostly settled,

Entries close in two months on 16 March and the shortlisting process will then begin. This year for the first time there is a popular vote award: the Tasty Website award. A shortlist will be chosen from all the entries and then voted on by SMS.

As for last year's tenth anniversary awards, there will be a Big Chip International Award for Innovation, open to nominations of any digital project anywhere. You can nominate an entry here.
